Im a novice with setting up a guestbook. I did manage to get it uploaded and to the point of logging into to admin but once I got to the configure page I'm stuck I don't know how to config it. Is their an example somewhere I could look at?
Thanks

Kristian, the wcs allows you to turn a number of EXISTING html pages into a guestbook. See for example cellbiol games.

I want visitors to my site to be able to comment on various songs that I have posted on my site. I would like the comments/reviews to then go to a different page "reviews" page seperated by song. Is this possible with the $20 donation system? It states it's great for if you want multiple guestbooks, but want to make sure it will do what I wish before spending the $20. Thank you.

correction, the email address is not fed to me, but a mailto: pop up happens.

Posted by WangleseFebruary 11, 2012 - 07:02 pm
I've got it up and running at HERE, but whenever I select keep email private, there's still a "mailto:" link for the name, and it seems to actually work, in that it opens up my email program and gives me the email address.

I know I've done somethng wrong, so if you can advise?

I have made many customizations of the 0.5.4 version and really enjoyed working with the code.

Just picked up the 0.7.1 Enhanced version. Hopefully it'll offer some nifty things I can incorporate into my own little guestbook and blog pages.

Feel free to have a look: BirdJanitorŽ Guestbook.

Thanks Andrea for some great code!

I have been using the free version for a while now, and for some reason the admin page has decided to stop working.
the rest of the php on my site is still fully functional. ef="http://www.grilaje-mobile.com">Grilaje Ferestre

Please verify i have this right. I add your php script to a regular static page. When the script executes, it rewrites the static page html file with the comments where the script was. And it will write additional static pages if there are more comments than will fit on a page. These static pages are delivered to my visitors until someone leaves another comment, at which time the static page files are rewritten to include the new comment.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim, I am totally ignorant about windows servers, however I would guess that setting up PHP should be a quite common and simple task. You can surely google "windows server 2003 PHP installation" and find details. It will be free, for sure.
Best luck - Andrea

Florian, if you upload an edited page, without the posts, indeed you have "erased" the posts. The page is repopulated with the posts when you then make a new post

Posted by FlorianJanuary 11, 2012 - 08:31 pm
It does, I tried everything again and again. Maybe it was the changing the title of the guestbook? And logging out of the admin. Also some writing rights, i guess. Thanx for checking! And thanx for the guestbook!!! :)

Sorry for the multiple posts - it said it didn't work, so I tried again.

Hi, I've redone a page with css (had tables before). What happend, since the posts do appear in the txt-file but not on the page - tried to set the writing rights to 666 on the guestbook.html and php.guestbook...
Could you maybe check it? It's www.florif.de/sahnic/php_guestbook/guestbook.html

Thanx, Florian

Sorry, please ignore my last post - for some reason the posts are displaying now.

I have uploaded a new version of my guestbook file and now my posts do not appear. I have tried posting a new post and I have checked my file permissions. Any ideas?
